IEM Fall 2024 to take place in Rio de Janeiro

Tournament operator ESL has decided on the location for IEM Fall 2024, which is scheduled for October 7-13. A big LAN tournament will be hosted by the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Note that the IEM competition will be held in Rio for the third year in a row. Just like the previous two events, IEM Rio 2024 will take place at the Jeunesse Arena, which is currently called Farmasi Arena.

Traditionally for this tournament series, 16 participants will compete for a prize pool of $250K. 11 teams will receive invites from the organizers, including the so-called Local Hero slot, while the remaining 5 spots will be secured by the winners of the qualifiers for Europe, North America, South America and Asia.

Notably, ESL will also feature at IEM Rio 2024 a ticket to the prestigious IEM Katowice 2025 tournament, where the best squads in the world will share $1 million in prize money.
