yel retires from playing

Brazilian esports athlete Gustavo "yel" Knittel has retired as a professional player. He announced this via his Twitter account.

According to yel, he will continue to compete on the Counter-Strike pro scene, but now as a coach. However, he did not specify whether he already has a team where he could debut in his new role.

Knittel has been inactive for the past nine months. In June 2023, he departed the Paqueta roster, which soon parted ways with the club.

During his career since 2015, yel has represented multiple top-tier Brazilian teams. He achieved his greatest success in Luminosity, with which, in particular, he placed second at DreamHack Open Valencia 2018 and DreamHack Open Atlanta 2018.
