Xyp9x departs Astralis after 8 years in club
Astralis' veteran Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth is departing the club after competing for it for 8 years. The Danish multigaming announced the parting ways with the 28-year-old esports athlete via its official website.
Højsleth was there at the creation of Astralis, which subsequently became one of the most successful organizations on the Counter-Strike pro scene and achieves success in other esports disciplines. As a team player, he won four Majors, as well as many other prestigious tournaments.
In April 2023, information surfaced about Xyp9x's exclusion from the main roster of Astralis. For the following two months, he was part of the club's academy, after which he took a break from competing.
Notably, the published announcement tells about a "new challenge" for the player, which will become known in the near future. Six months ago, the experienced Dane said that he sees the strength to return to the tier-1 scene in himself.
