Valve urges Major participants not to complicate their autographs for stickers
Valve sent out an email to participants of the RMR tournaments for PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024, encouraging them to use simpler autographs for their stickers. This was discovered by the GameArena portal.
According to the published information, Valve admitted that over time it relaxed the criteria for accepting players' autographs, which has led to the use of designer art and commercial fonts. The company decided to take advantage of the transition to a new version of the shooter to bring back the classic requirements for autographs for stickers.
The letter states that the in-game autographs have to be similar to real handwritten signatures that esports athletes do for fans, while the process itself should not take more than 5-10 seconds. However, Valve does not prohibit the use of design elements, but the drawing should not be too complex to be recreated many times.
Previously, a number of players who will participate in PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 complained about Valve's refusal to accept their autographs for stickers. In particular, Justinas "jL" Lekavicius (NAVI), Håvard "rain" Nygaard (FaZe), Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov (Cloud9), Denis "seized" Kostin (9 Pandas) and Abay "HObbit" Khassenov (Cloud9) shared their unsuccessful projects.
