ESL announces return of ESL Challenger event to Melbourne

Tournament operator ESL announced via its Twitter account ESL Challenger Melbourne 2024. The tournament will take place in Australia from April 26 to 28.

Eight teams will take part in the event. Four of them will receive invites from the organizers – three rosters will be determined based on the ESL ranking, while one more team will receive a so-called Local Hero slot.

The remaining four participants will secure tickets through the closed qualifiers. They will take place in Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America.

ESL Challenger Melbourne 2024 will feature a prize pool of $100K. In addition, the winner will receive an ESL Pro League Season 20 berth.

Note that this is the third year in a row when ESL is organizing the tournament in Melbourne. In 2022 and 2023, the titles were secured by paiN and Movistar Riders (now KOI), respectively.
