Players massively complain about VAC bans in CS2 [Updated]

Update (19:55 CET): The developers confirmed via their Twitter account that the wave of bans that occurred was a mistake caused by the latest game update. The ban rollbacks are currently in progress.

Players are facing a massive wave of VAC bans in Counter-Strike 2, as reported by Reddit users. A lot of them associate the bans with the latest shooter update.

According to the analytical service csstats.gg, the number of VAC bans on December 5 reached 2,000 accounts. This is almost double the average for the past two weeks.

Reportedly, even some representatives of the professional scene have been banned. G2 manager Petar "peca" Marković, Into the Breach's Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras and M80's Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa told about VAC banned.

There is no information on what exactly is causing the new wave of bans, and whether they will be lifted. However, banned players note that they can still exchange items from their inventories.
