ESIC places lifetime ban on owner of Akuma, MAJESTY and Project X

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has placed a lifetime ban on Alexey Shyshko for match-fixing and facilitating cheating in the organization of competitions. He is known as the owner of the Akuma, MAJESTY and Project X rosters.

Officially, the investigation into Shyshko began in the summer of 2021, when ESIC discovered that the owner was betting on matches of his Project X team. Later, the Commission received evidence from anonymous sources confirming the accusations against the functionary.

Reportedly, Shyshko was engaged in match-fixing activities during Bellum Gens Elite Stara Zagora 2020, in which his team MAJESTY participated. At the same time, ESIC noted that further investigation of other possible participants in cheating activities remains in progress.

Previously, the Commission also banned Ukrainian esports athletes Dmitry "SENSEi" Shvorak, Max "THRONE" Semenov, Artur "DarkS1DE" Kravchenko and Danylo "nat1ve" Bakin for two years. They were charged with organizing match-fixes and betting violations. Notably, all the suspended players are in some way connected to Shyshko's aforementioned teams.
