HLTV.org consultant explains huNter- being chosen as IEM Katowice 2023 MVP

G2 member Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač became HLTV.org's best player of IEM Katowice 2023 after his successful performance in the event's playoffs, Petar Milovanovic, the consultant for the reputable CS:GO site, said on Twitter.

According to the HLTV.org representative, Kovač's strong individual performance in the semifinal and grand final allowed him to level the gap between Heroic's Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard and his teammate Justin "jks" Savage, who posted higher average ratings.

jabbi was the clear leader in the MVP race before the start of the grand final but eventually did not claim the award due to falling off in the decisive match. In turn, jks lagged behind huNter- in terms of average damage per round: 106 points for Kovač versus 96 points for Savage.

huNter- ended IEM Katowice 2023 with an average rating of 1.21, playing a crucial role in G2's victory at the tournament. The MVP award secured was the second one in his career.
