Maniac on Astralis' future: "Keeping Xyp9x puts a minimal skill limit for a potential 5th"

Analyst Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez took to Twitter to share his opinion on the prospects of the new Astralis roster, which the Danish club is currently building. He believes that if Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, who shows a low level of individual play, is to remain in the team, the Danes will be forced to find a fifth player with good aim.

Maniac's words came as a reaction to rumors about Nicolai "device" Reedtz's return to Astralis. The analyst is positive that Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and Benjamin "blameF" Bremer will definitely play alongside the sniper.

Device, gla1ve, blameF + two more. Where do we go fellas? Realistically? Personally, I haven't completely lost hope for Xyp but keeping him puts a "min. skill limit" for a potential 5th then. There has to be firepower. Kjaerbye? I haven't seen Kjaerbye play recently. Can he still compete at the highest level or is he living on his name's reputation?

Astralis announced the beginning of the restructuring phase shortly after the failure at the qualifier for IEM Rio Major 2022. The Danish organization has three weeks to decide on the roster, which on November 16 kicks off its Elisa Masters Espoo 2022 campaign.
