Official: Astralis terminate k0nfig's contract

Astralis have officially announced the cancellation of Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke's contract. Thus, the insider information previously reported by Jaxon.gg regarding the Danish club's intention to part with the player has been confirmed.

The official reason for k0nfig's departure from Astralis is "personal circumstances" that neither the club nor the player wants to comment on. According to rumors, the organization's decision to remove Wienecke from the roster had to do with the player's fight in Malta during ESL Pro League Season 16, where he broke his leg and was indefinitely out of action.

k0nfig's tweet confirmed the rumors that he broke his leg in a fight with the promoter of a nightclub in Malta, where he was out with teammates after elimination from the EPL. He stated that he would take a break from his career to restore physical and psychological health but did not specify how long the pause would last.

Wienecke has been part of Astralis since last fall. The team's best achievement during this time was a 3rd-place finish at BLAST Premier Fall Final 2021 and 3-4th place at IEM Cologne 2022.

Astralis announced the parting with k0nfig a few days after being eliminated from the European RMR tournament, where the injured esports athlete was replaced by the Danish club's academy team member Mikkel "MistR" Thomsen. As of now, there is no information about whether the young Dane will remain on the team or if the organization will find a new player.

 Astralis' current lineup is:

 Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander
 Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth
 Benjamin "blameF" Bremer
 Asger "Farlig" Jensen

 Martin "trace" Heldt (coach)
