ESIC: new coaching bug report coming this week

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) in a commentary to Dust2.us has announced that the results of its new investigation into the use of the coaching bug on the professional scene will be unveiled this week. The ESIC statement confirmed the previously reported information about the new report being presented to the public prior to PGL Major Antwerp 2022, which kicks off on May 9.

The representatives of the Commission clarified that at the final stage of the investigation, no mitigating measures will be applied to the coaches who publicly declare their abuse of the bug.

The information about the new ESIC investigation first appeared at the end of March from the Dexerto publication. 52 coaches were reportedly involved in abusing the game's vulnerability, but had not previously been punished. Later, former ESL head referee Michal Slowinski tweeted about three possible variants of the bug that appeared in the investigation.

Over the past month, the names of some coaches who were engaged in using the bug have been mentioned in the media. In particular, journalists found examples of suspicious actions of the current Evil Geniuses coach Damien "maLeK" Marcel, as well as Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu, who now works with Imperial.
