maLeK suspected of using coaching bug

Current Evil Geniuses' coach Damien "maLeK" Marcel is likely involved in abusing the coaching bug while working for G2 four years ago, Jaxon.gg concluded.

As a proof, the journalists brought up a tweet by their colleague from Dexerto Luis Mira, who published one of the bug's variants that is currently being looked into by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC). The video did not mention any specific teams or players, but Robin "ropz" Kool from FaZe found this moment in the match between G2 and fnatic at ECS Season 6 Finals.

The video shows that the coach of one of the teams could get information about the opponents committing to the site using a third-person view. After analyzing the demo, the journalists came to the conclusion that this coach was maLeK, since it was he who was on the server at that moment.

At the time of publication of the material, the reaction of the ESIC to such a public analysis from the open sources remains unknown. The Commission was reportedly close to completing an investigation into 52 individuals involved in abusing the bug. The verdict is believed to be reached before May 9, when the Major in Antwerp begins.
