OverDrive: Gambit roster is up for sale

Gambit intend to sell their CS:GO lineup and has already put it on the transfer list, Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov tweeted.

The source did not provide further information on the reasons for such decision and there is also no information about the price that the club plans to gain from the deal.

The message about Gambit's desire to sell the roster followed a week after ESL banned Gambit and Virtus.pro from participating in the ESL Pro League. The players were then permitted to play under neutral names, which they are going to do.

The reason for the disqualification from ESL was the "ties with the Russian government" of the two organizations mentioned above amid ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. Another tournament operator that also banned any Russian-based teams from taking part in their events was BLAST.

The current Gambit lineup was formed in the summer of 2020. Since then, the best achievements of the CIS team were victories at IEM Katowice 2021, IEM Summer 2021 and BLAST Premier Spring Final 2021.
