Rumors: G2 urgently try to get m0NESY Serbian citizenship

G2 are promptly doing the necessary paperwork for Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov to acquire Serbian citizenship, Cybersport.ru reports.

According to the source, Serbian citizenship is a must in order for the 16-year-old Russian to "continue to play for G2" and "get rid of pressure and questions from the community."

m0NESY has been representing G2 since the beginning of this year, when the European club signed him from NAVI. According to rumors, the transfer fee added up to about $600,000. So far, he helped his new team secure a spot in BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 and finish second at IEM Katowice 2022.

Currently, Osipov, along with his teammates, is in Düsseldorf, Germany, taking part in the fifteenth season of the ESL Pro League.

Earlier, NAVI's COO Aleksey "xaoc" Kucherov announced that the Russian members of the club's CS:GO team might change their citizenship. The conversation about obtaining citizenship of another country for the esports athletes has to do with the current situation in the world, which has happened due to military action in Ukraine.
