flamie becomes free agent

NAVI gave Egor "flamie" Vasilyev a free agent status. This was reported on the club's official website.

According to Alexey "xaoc" Kucherov, NAVI's COO, the decision to part ways with flamie had to do with the inability to use a six-man squad during the major qualifiers. Considering Vasilyev's contribution to the team's success, the management decided not to interfere with his negotiations with other teams.

Despite his contract termination, the 24-year-old Russian will play for the club's youth squad in the second season of the WePlay Academy League. The dates of the tournament remian unknown at this point.

It should be reminded that flamie has represented NAVI for the past six years. During this time, he became the winner of fourteen big tournaments, two of which he finished with the MVP medal. Also, Vasilyev was twice among the twenty best players in the world according to HLTV.org: 14th place in 2015 and 12th place in 2016.

At the end of 2020, former NAVI Academy player Valeriy "B1T" Vakhovsky started to replace flamie on some maps. In April 2021, Vasiliev was finally excluded from the main five and has been inactive ever since.
