fer joined Imperial for cs_summit 8 qualifiers

Brazilian Imperial has announced the addition of former SK and MIBR player Fernando "fer" Alvarenga to its lineup. The two-time major champion will play for the team in upcoming events, including qualifiers for the North American RMR tournament cs_summit 8 in early May.

Alvarenga replaced Guilherme "piriaz1n" Barbosa on Imperial's main roster. The 18-year-old Brazilian was accused of concealing a VAC ban and the club has decided to suspend him from playing while an internal investigation takes place.

The team has already begun training with fer at a bootcamp in the Mexican capital, where the organization's headquarters moved a few days earlier. According to media reports, the player will remain with Imperial until at least mid-June, as the squad is scheduled to participate at IEM Summer 2021.

Alvarenga, 29, has been without a team since last September when he was released from the MIBR starting five amid unsatisfactory results. He helped the BOOM team win the FlowFiReLEAGUE 2020 Global Finals LAN tournament in December, but decided not to join the squad, which soon was signed by MIBR.
