Cloud9 are aiming for former Gen.G coach

Cloud9 is considering former Gen.G mentor Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbitt for the position of head coach of their team. The organization's general manager, Henry "HenryG" Greer, made the announcement in a comment for Rush B Media.

According to Greer, negotiations with Tebbitt are close to the deal, and an official announcement can be expected by the end of this week.

Cloud9 is in search of a coach after parting ways with Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunovic late last month. The reason for the decision to end cooperation with the Serbian specialist was his conflict with the captain Alex "ALEX" McMeekin due to different views on the style of play of the squad.

Elmapuddy moved to Gen.G from Cloud9, where he served as assistant head coach, in December 2019. Under his leadership, the North American squad won the 2020 DreamHack Open Anaheim and ESL One Road to Rio, and placed high in a number of other regional tournaments. On December 15, it became known that the South Korean organization is disbanding the roster, as it is experiencing difficulties with its staffing after the departure of Damien "daps" Steele and Sam "s0m" Ou to Valorant.

Notably, this news follows rumors of a possible expansion of Cloud9's playing roster. According to insider Guillaume "neL" Ratier, the organization is close to signing former Chaos player Eric "Xeppaa" Bach.
