Rumor: Envy to buy out 3DMAX CS2 roster

According to unofficial reports, the North American esports organization Envy may soon return to the pro Counter-Strike scene. French outlet lasource.gg reported this, citing its own sources.

Media reports suggest the American club could fully acquire the 3DMAX roster. However, neither organization has yet commented on the matter.

Envy was founded in 2007 and entered the pro CS:GO scene in early 2015 by acquiring the LDLC roster. In 2018, the organization moved away from its French lineup in favor of North American players. The club revealed its departure from the discipline in 2021. In 2022, Envy ceased operations after becoming part of the OpTic brand. Finally, the club was revived in January 2025, launching rosters for VALORANT and Marvel Rivals.

Currently, 3DMAX holds the 32nd spot in Valve's official world ranking for Counter-Strike 2 teams. Recently, several current and former members of the squad publicly addressed the issue of unpaid wages owed by the organization.
