FACEIT London Major First Round Matchups Revealed

With the FACEIT London Major beginning next week, the matchups for the first round were revealed Thursday by the organizer.

FACEIT has set up the first round of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive matchups so teams that qualified through a Minor will be matched up against ones knocked out in the Legends Stage at the ELEAGUE Boston Major in January.

The first round matchups are as follows:

--Space Soldiers vs. Rogue

--Virtus.pro vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas

--Gambit Esports vs. TyLoo Gaming

--BIG vs. Renegades

--Vega Squadron vs. Team Spirit

--North vs. HellRaisers

--Team Liquid vs. OpTic Gaming

--Astralis vs. compLexity

Some of the more interesting matchups in the first set of games include fan favorites Virtus.pro and Ninjas in Pyjamas facing off against each other. Other notable games include Major favorites Astralis playing against CompLexity Gaming and Team Liquid's Keith "NAFFLY" Markovic facing his old organization, OpTic Gaming.

The Challenger Stage begins on Sep. 5 and will be broadcast on both YouTube and Twitch simultaneously. Only eight teams will qualify for the Legends Stage and get one step closer to winning it all and playing on stage at the SSE Arena at Wembley.
