Sources: Mousesports Targeting Snax; STYKO Will Play at ESL One Cologne
Mousesports is targeting polish Counter-Strike player Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski to replace Martin “STYKO” Styk, according to multiple sources close to the players and teams.
STYKO will be benched by mousesports effective after ESL One Cologne, which begins July 3. Mousesports intended to use Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert -- who played with Mouz as a stand-in at ESL One Belo Horizonte -- at Cologne, but according to one source, the organization was unable to make the lineup switch in time to abide by the 14-day roster lock ahead of Cologne.
We have no official statement about Snax yet, but I hope to give an update in the next 48 hours.— Roman Dvoryankin (@dvoryrom) 26 июня 2018 г.
Snax has played with the Virtus.pro organization since January 2014, winning his first and only Major just two months after joining. Throughout his time on the team, Virtus.pro won multiple tournaments but has failed to reach that same level of play over the last year of play. Revered for always keeping its lineup intact, Virtus.pro shocked the CS:GO community by replacing veteran Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas with Michał “MICHU” Müller in March. Since the change, the form of the team has improved slightly with its best finish being a run to the finals at the CS:GO Asia Championships a couple weeks ago.
Mousesports declined to comment.
