BLAST Open 2027 Season 3 heads to the United States

Tournament organizer BLAST has announced BLAST Open 2027 Season 3, a new Counter-Strike 2 event that will take place in the United States from September 3 to 12 next year. The tournament will offer a total prize pool of $1.25 million.

The event will feature an updated format compared to previous Open events, in which 16 teams were split into two groups, with six sides then advancing to the playoffs.

The new format will include a Play-In stage, where 16 teams will compete on LAN. The stage will be played in a Swiss format over five days, after which the top eight teams will battle for the title in the playoffs, set to take place in an arena.

Of the 16 participants, 11 will receive direct invites based on the VRS ranking. The remaining five spots will be distributed across four regional qualifiers, with North America receiving an extra slot.
