BC.Game CEO: "Our Asian players are the ones with the longest contracts, we are here to stay"

Ali "Ako" Muhanned, CEO of the esports organization BC.Game, explained how the club managed to convince the developers of Counter-Strike 2 to allow the team to qualify for PGL Singapore Major 2026 via the Asian region.

We made our case pretty clear, we showed what our plan was. We reached out to them [Valve], emailed them, just told them the truth, showed them some stuff. All of our players are on long contracts, our Asian players are actually the ones with the longest contracts, so we are here to stay. <...>

I think for sure they understand that we're not here for the money, or trying to fuck over a player to make the Major. The whole thing with us taking that risk is we are showing that we are here to stay. It doesn't matter if we make the Major or not, that's the reality. We just want to be treated the same, and fair.

Notably, on October 7, Valve officially updated its list of exceptions to the Counter-Strike 2 competition requirements, introducing a ruling that enables BC.Game to qualify for the upcoming Major through the Asian VRS rankngs. This exception was introduced just one day after the developers adjusted the rules regarding region changes within the VRS system.
