HOTU and B8 drop to lower bracket at IEM Rio 2026

Group B openers at IEM Rio 2026 have concluded, with four teams dropping to the lower bracket.

In the first round, FURIA defeated Passion UA, NAVI bested B8, Aurora prevailed over HOTU, while MOUZ got the better of Legacy. All four matches were played in a BO3 format.

The winners advanced to the upper bracket semi-finals, while the losing teams will compete in the losers' bracket today for surviving at the tournament.

IEM Rio 2026 is taking place from April 13th to 19th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with 16 squads participating. The event's prize pool is $300,000. Detailed information about the tournament can be found in our article.
