BLAST Bounty 2027 Season 1 announced

Tournament operator BLAST has officially announced a new Bounty series evnt – it will take place from January 11th to 24th, 2027, at the BLAST studio in Malta. The tournament will be held entirely on LAN and will feature 16 teams.

The event will be divided into three parts. In the Play-In (Double Elimination) stage, 16 squads will be divided into four groups of four. The group winners will advance directly to the quarter-finals of the Single Elimination playoffs, while the teams that place second and third will get through to the Last Chance Qualifier, where eight rosters will compete for four spots in the playoffs.

BLAST Bounty 2027 Season 1 will retain the opponent draft element. The four highest-seeded teams will be divided into different Play-In stage groups, while the remaining squads will choose their own groups, starting with the lowest-seeded teams. Additionally, the Play-In group winners will determine the placement of the Last Chance Qualifier matches in the playoff bracket. The selection begins with the highest-seeded team.

The total prize pool of the event will amount to $1.25 million. In addition to the prize money, BLAST announced compensation for teams accepting the tournament invite – the amount will depend on their ranking at the time of the invitation ($60,000 for teams ranked 1-4 in the VRS; $30,000 for teams ranked 5-8; $5,000 for teams ranked 9-16).

Each Play-In group winner will receive a bounty of $40,000, teams that place second will receive $25,000, while teams that place will earn $15,000. A total of $320,000 has been allocated for this purpose. Another $180,000 has been allocated for prize money: teams that finish first in the Play-In group will receive $30,000; teams that finish last will receive $5,000; while teams that advance through the Play-In but are eliminated in the Last Chance Qualifier will earn $10,000. Squads that advance to the playoffs via the Last Chance Qualifier will not receive any prize money, but are guaranteed to earn at least $15,000 in bounties. The remaining $750,000 will be distributed among teams based on their final placement:

1. $150,000
2. $100,000
3-4. $80,000
5-8. $50,000
9-12. $25,000
13-16. $10,000
