ESIC unbans Gokushima early
The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has unbanned Erkhan "gokushima" Bagynanov early for collaborating with and providing information on match-fixing on the Counter-Strike 2 pro scene.
Last April, Bagynanov received a two-year ban from events from organizers cooperating with ESIC. The ban ultimately lasted 18 months and 13 days, expiring today, October 10.
According to an official statement from ESIC, cooperation with gokushima significantly assisted the commission in its investigation, which resulted in sanctions being imposed against the following individuals:
- Egor “Zly” Polyakov – Lifetime ban;
- Alexandr “Ruler” Maximov – 5-year ban;
- Dimitriy “Propleh” Senigov – 5-year ban;
- Peter “damiel” Markheev – 5-year ban.
Notably, a press release from ESIC published last April stated that gokushima participated in match-fixing and also placed bets on his team. In addition, the esports athlete was accused of concealing all facts and circumstances of the ESIC's code of conduct violation.
