Cloud9 CEO reacts to rumors of buying NAVI Junior
CEO and founder of the esports club Cloud9, Jack Etienne, has denied the rumor that his organization could fully buy out NAVI's youth Counter-Strike 2 roster, which is currently in the top 27 of Valve's world ranking. "This is a false rumor. Sorry, guys", Etienne wrote on Reddit.
Note that Cloud9 took the penultimate place at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 in China. After that, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov, Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov, Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko, Timofey "interz" Yakushin, Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov, as well as coach Konstantin "groove" Pikiner and manager Alexander "Sweetypotz" Shcherbakov departed the club.
In an official statement made in February of this year, it was said that Cloud9 was "taking a step back" and "does not plan to return to the game anytime soon". However, the organization does not rule out the possibility of returning to the discipline under the right circumstances.
