Valve updated rules for CS2 tournaments invitations

Valve has once again made adjustments to the official rulebook for holding Counter-Strike 2 tournaments. This time, the developers have added two new points to section 3.2.5, which concerns invitations to events.

b) The Participating Roster satisfies the invite criteria (e.g. regional, demographic, etc).

c) The Roster has not previously declined an invitation to the same Tournament.

Point C is a key one (point B only clarifies the existing conditions) – it can lead to undesirable consequences if a team declines an invite to a closed qualifier and then will not be able to accept an invite to the main stage of the event.

In addition, Valve has obliged tournament organizers to indicate the exact timeframe for holding their competitions in order to avoid scheduling conflicts, as in the case of PGL Astana 2025 and IEM Dallas 2025. Now contracts with teams must specify precise dates for the players to arrive at the tournament.

The latest update to the Counter-Strike 2 tournament rules was released on March 20: according to the edited rulebook, all conflicts of interest must now be disclosed publicly.
