Falcons file formal complaint against BLAST

Esports organization Falcons has filed a complaint against BLAST over the tournament operator's post of a clip of the team's tactical pause during BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 on social media, according to club's director Grant Rousseau.

The clip, shown during the live stream and posted on social media, captured a moment of communication between Danny "zonic" Sørensen, Abdul "degster" Gasanov, and Nikola "NiKo" Kovač during their match against Virtus.pro.

In the clip, the team's coach stopped mid-sentence during a pause, after which degster asks, "What?" After a long pause, NiKo asks zonic if he has any ideas or if he should make the call himself.

Many members of the Counter-Strike 2 community immediately lashed out at BLAST for posting the clip.

"It forcibly lacks context by not showing the entire timeout (which they can't do because there was tactical elements discussed towards the end of it) for the sake of creating a bait tweet and noise and giving a false impression of the coach and players", Russo stated via his X social media account.

Note that Falcons have already finished their journey at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025: the squad lost their opener in the group against MOUZ, won against The Huns in the lower bracket, and then lost to Virtus.pro in the elimination match.
