NIP benches maxster
Swedish esports club NIP unveiled changes to its Counter-Strike 2 roster – the organization benched Max "maxster" Jansson. The announcement was published on X social media.
Note that maxster stopped competing for NIP back in October of this year – due to health issues, the 20-year-old Swede missed several tournaments, including RMR. Instead, the NIP youth roster member Jacob "jocab" Nerheden played as a stand-in for the team. The organization did not specify whether Nerheden would retain his place in the lineup.
Together with jocab, the squad placed last at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024, second-to-last at Thunderpick World Championship 2024, second at Svenska Cupen 2024 and 3rd-4th at YaLLa Compass Fall 2024.
The roster entered the top 8 in the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Europe RMR and did not qualify for the Shanghai Counter-Strike 2 Major. Currently, the team occupies 34th place in HLTV ranking.
NIP are now:
Fredrik "REZ" Sterner
Artem "r1nkle" Moroz
Isak "isak" Fahlén
Gareth "MisteM" Ries
Jacob "jocab" Nerheden (stand-in)
Richard "Xizt" Landström (coach)
