ALTERNATE aTTaX to disband CS2 roster by end of year

German esports club ALTERNATE aTTaX, founded in 2003, has announced the suspension of its Counter-Strike 2 division. The announcement was published on the organization's X social media account.

The current ALTERNATE aTTaX CS2 roster will continue to compete under the same tag until the end of the year. At the same time, the organization, according to the official statement, will still players from its own academy. The club plans to return to the discipline in the future.

Several factors were cited as the reasons for this decision – including financial difficulties, an unfavorable situation in the Counter-Strike 2 ecosystem, as well as strategic changes within the organization itself.

Not long ago, ALTERNATE aTTaX's lineup participated in a big LAN tournament IEM Cologne 2024 in Germany – the squad ended up taking last place and earning $2,500 in prize money. The roster currently holds 64th place in HLTV ranking.
