Cloud9 to face HEROIC in first round of IEM Rio 2024 qualifiers

Tournament operator ESL has announced the seeding for the IEM Rio 2024 closed qualifiers in the European and North American regions. The competition will be held in a Double Elimination format. In Europe, participants will fight for two slots at the tournament, while in North America – for one.

Thus, in the first round of the qualifier, Falcons will face OG, fnatic – 3DMAX, Eternal Fire – B8, and Cloud9 – HEROIC. In America, Liquid will compete against Fluffy Aimers, while Legacy will fight against LAG. The European qualifier is scheduled for August 26 – 28; in North America, the matches will play out on August 31 and September 1.

IEM Rio 2024 will take place from October 7 to 13, 2024 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with 16 teams competing for $250,000 in prize money. The winner will secure a ticket to IEM Katowice 2025. The list of invitees can be found via the link.
