YNk: "The best thing that can happen to Astralis is not making this Major"

Esports analyst Janko "YNk" Paunović believes that Astralis need to drastically rebuild their roster in order to succeed in the future. In the expert's opinion, which he voiced in the English-speaking broadcast of IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR A, a failure in qualifying for the Major will push the Danes towards deciding on replacements faster.

As potential newcomers to Astralis, Paunović singled out Nicolai "device" Reedtz, who is rumored to be close to returning to the club, as well as the duo of Danish players from Sprout Victor "Staehr" Staehr and Rasmus "Zyphon" Nordfoss.

I think the best thing that can happen to Astralis is not making this Major. Then you just blow up this roster, right. You keep blameF, you keep gla1ve, you get dev1ce and you get Staehr and Zyphon from Sprout, potentially. <...> There have been glaring issues with this roster since its change with adding k0nfig and blameF. It's like their role overlap with gla1ve, we talked about it time and time again. I think it'll be a great sort of exuse for them to start fresh, give the players some rest to reset. Mentally it has been a very draining process. Someone like gla1ve or Xyp9x, they won four Majors, they have been on the best team in the world for a couple of years, that had a great run and now you can't even make the Major. That takes a mental adjustment that not every player can make.

Astralis started the European RMR event with a loss by NIP, after which they defeated Eternal Fire and lost to Bad News Eagles, dropping down to the 1-2 pool. You can follow up on the tournament in CSGO.com's match center via this link.
