Delays in NAVI – Heroic match at EPL S16 were due to DDoS attacks against individual players

ESL FACEIT Group SVP Ulrich Schulze took to his Twitter account to reveal the reasons for the delays in the match between NAVI and Heroic in the Round of 12 at ESL Pro League Season 16. According to the head, the delays were caused by targeted DDoS attacks via Steam against individual players.

Schulze stressed that the organizers had taken measures to ensure that such problems do not recur in subsequent matches of the ongoing EPL season. He also said that ESL had informed Valve, in partnership with which will hold RMR events ahead of IEM Rio Major 2022.

The meeting between NAVI and Heroic lasted five hours and ended with the victory of Denis "electroNic" Sharipov's squad. This result secured Natus Vincere a spot in the quarterfinals, while the Danes finished their tournament run.

The ESL Pro League Season 16 playoffs will continue today, September 29, with two quarterfinal encounters. The pairings look as follows: Liquid – MOUZ (16:30 MSK) and Cloud9 – FaZe (20:00 MSK).
