The first Round of 12 match at ESL Pro League Season 16 saw Liquid defeat fnatic 2:1 – 16:13 on Inferno, 9:16 on Overpass and 16:10 on Ancient. The North American team advanced to the quarterfinals, while William "mezii" Merriman and company finished their run at the tournament.

Liquid's next match will take place on Thursday, September 29. The squad will take on MOUZ, who earned a direct spot in the quarterfinals after topping their group.
