k0nfig to miss RMR event with broken ankle

Astralis player Kristian "k0nfig" Wieneke will not be able to help his team at the European RMR tournament. The Danish organization reported via its official Twitter account that the esports athlete suffered a complicated ankle fracture.

The club did not reveal any additional details about the injury, with the player's approximate recovery time also being unknown.

Stepping in for k0nfig at the upcoming qualifier for IEM Rio Major 2022 will be Mikkel "⁠MistR⁠" Thomsen. The 18-year-old Dane is a member of the club's academy team, which he has been representing since 2020.

The Europe RMR will take place on October 4-9 in Malta. In the fight for eight tickets to the Major, Astralis will face FaZe, Team Spirit, NIP, G2, Cloud9, Bad News Eagles, Sprout, Aurora, fnatic, forZe, Eternal Fire, B8, ECSTATIC, 1WIN and GamerLegion.

 Astralis will field the following lineup for the Europe RMR:
