Peak player count record in 2022 broken after CS:GO's 10th anniversary update

Today, August 17, CS:GO saw a record in the peak concurrent player count in 2022, which amounted to 1,039,889, as evidenced by the data from the analytical service Steam Charts.

The previous record was set in April this year. Four months ago, 1,013,237 people were playing CS:GO concurrently.

The reason for the increased interest in Valve's shooter was the update, which came out on the night of August 17 and was dedicated to the game's 10th anniversary. The developers released a sticker capsule, a cupcake-themed coin, and new maps.

The official CS:GO Twitter account thanked the players for their interest. "Thanks again to the one million of you concurrently trying to earn cupcakes", the developers wrote.
