Entropiq, Evil Geniuses, VERTEX and Wings Up qualify for ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022

The qualifiers for ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022 have come to an end. Following the results of the qualifications, which took place in four regions and consisted of open and closed parts, Entropiq, Evil Geniuses, VERTEX and Wings Up punched their tickets to the event.

Entropiq became the winners of the European closed qualifier, which saw them first defeating NASA, losing to HEET in the next match, but then bouncing back to knock out Formel, K23 and HEET in the lower bracket. In the grand final, the Russians took over Sprout.

The European closed qualifier final bracket is:

Evil Geniuses (Party Astronauts) won the North American closed qualifier. The Americans started their run to the top with a win over TeamOne, followed by a defeat from ATK and a drop to the lower bracket. In the next meetings, EG came out on top of Gamin Gladiators and took revenge on ATK in the decisive match.

The Pacific qualifier, which was held without the traditional leader of the region ORDER, ended with the victory of VERTEX. Toby "BRACE" Barnes's squad lost to Encore in the upper bracket final but eventually managed to reach the grand final and secure a spot in the LAN tournament.

The Oceania closed qualifier final bracket is:

Just like the Oceania qualification, the Asian qualifier for ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022 took place without the strongest teams in the region Rare Atom and TYLOO, who are currently in Europe. Thus, the berth to the Melbourne Challenger was booked by Wings Up, who lost to IHC at the start of the closed qualifier but secured three consecutive victories after.

ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022 with a total prize pool of $100,000 is set to be held from September 2 to 9 in Melbourne, Australia. Along with Entropiq, Evil Geniuses (Party Astronauts), VERTEX and Wings Up, the tournament will feature four direct invitees. Besides the prize money, the teams will compete for a spot in EPL Conference Season 17.
