m0NESY: "I have no plans to get citizenship in Europe"

In a conversation with a CSGO.com journalist during the press conference for IEM Cologne 2022 participants, G2's AWPer Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov spoke about the problems with logistics that are now hindering him. According to the Russian, he does not intend to obtain a passport of any of the EU countries, as previously reported in the media, but will consider the possibility of obtaining a residence permit in Europe.

Citizenship? It was not true. Someone said it and someone picked this up. I have no plans to get citizenship in Europe. Perhaps only a residence permit. <...> I planned to move to Europe. It is very difficult to travel to tournaments from Russia. It takes a long time, requires 15-16 hours of travel, and is very expensive. For now, I live in Germany.

Osipov also shared his expectations for G2's performance at IEM Cologne 2022. The AWPer is confident that his team will prove itself both at this event and those that will take place in the second part of the year.

I know we can play better. We're just a little lacking in terms of our game. I'm sure G2 will be able to do well in this tournament and the events after the summer break.

In the IEM Cologne 2022 group stage, G2 will compete in Group B. In the opening match, the team will face Movistar Riders tomorrow, July 7, at 13:30 MSK.
