Dust2.us: CeRq and Brehze's contracts with Evil Geniuses expire in September

In September this year, Evil Geniuses members Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov and Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte may become free agents, Dust2.us reported on the imminent expiration of the players' contracts citing its sources.

There is currently no information about why the club did not extend contracts with the esports athletes and whether they are going to do so in the future. The journalists reached out to EG's management for an explanation of the situation but did not receive a response.

CeRq and Brehze have been playing for Evil Geniuses since the fall of 2019, when the organization bought out the entire NRG roster. It was then reported that the buyout fee of the five players and the coach amounted to about $3 million. Since then, the team's highest achievement has been the victory at ESL One New York 2019, which lifted them to the first place of the world rankings.

With the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and the transition of the professional scene to the online environment, EG's results have significantly worsened. The organization has repeatedly changed its lineup and recently expanded its CS:GO division to fifteen members. Next year, EG plan to form only one roster with a constant rotation of players from the three lineups they have now.

Until September, when CeRq and Brehze's contracts reportedly expire, the main Evil Geniuses roster will take part in at least two tournaments: BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022 and ESL Pro League Season 16. North Americans will attend both events as a partner team.
