m0NESY apologizes for using smoke grenade bug at PGL Major Antwerp 2022

G2’s AWPer Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, in a commentary to YouTube blogger Eugene Raiz, apologized to NAVI and Imperial for using the smoke grenade bug against them during PGL Major Antwerp 2022. The young Russian admitted that this should not have been done, especially at such prestigious tournament.

I used this bug against NAVI and the Brazilians. I’m sorry. I had to think twice before doing it. I also need to clarify that when we showed this smoke [to PGL admins], we did it along with the window smoke, meaning there was a smoke effect. When you look closer, you can see that this is a bug. The adminis allowed it, but, of course, you need to think yourself and not use such things, especially at the Major. Sorry to those who I used this bug against.

The scandal with the smoke grenade bug arose on May 15, after which many professional players called on the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 organizers to prohibit the use of the vulnerability at the event. PGL decided to keep the things just how they were, however, all teams taking part in the Major made a gentleman's agreement not to use the bug.

The very next day after the discovery of the so-called "m0NESY smoke", CS:GO developers released an update that fixed the smoke grenade bug.
