Dexerto: ESIC launches investigation into HObbit's implication in match-fixing

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has launched an investigation following the statement of Rustam "5TRYK3R" Alimkulov, who accused former players of the Kazakh team PARTY, including the eminent esports athlete Abay "HObbit" Khasenov, of match-fixing, according to the Dexerto report.

Based on the materials published by Alimkulov, who was a member of the PARTY roster at the end of 2015, the Kazakh team probably agreed to deliberately lose certain matches, in particular, in the StarLadder Regional Minor Championship CIS qualifiers, which were available in bookmakers’ lines. As a result, the scheduled matches were canceled for bets, which 5TRYK3R cites as proof of his claims.

Among other things, a recording of the conversation of all five PARTY players in TeamSpeak dated February 10, 2016, where on the minute 19 they discussed the desire to throw their matches, was provided as evidence.

The PARTY’s Teamspeak recording:

According to Alimkulov, after the team discussions, he was excluded from PARTY and never played with former teammates again. At the same time, the pro-players community in Kazakhstan began to avoid him.

Besides 5TRYK3R and HObbit, the mentioned PARTY lineup also included Magzhan "fANTASTIKA" Temirbolat, Adlet "KeeN" Nyrseytov and Bektiyar "fitch" Bahytov. Currently, all three do not play CS:GO at a professional level.

Dexerto requested a comment on this situation from Cloud9, which Hobbit currently represents, but the North American organization refused, citing the need for an internal investigation. As of now, together with the Kazakh legionnaire, the team is taking part in PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
