PGL approves of "m0NESY's smoke" use at PGL Major Antwerp 2022 [Updated]

Update: All PGL Major Antwerp 2022 participants have agreed not to use the smoke grenade bug at the tournament, as announced by the Counter-Strike Professional Players' Association (CSPPA) on their social media.

The PGL Major Antwerp 2022 organizers have allowed the smoke grenade bug used by G2's AWPer Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov the day before. PGL announced this on Twitter.

This bug allowed m0NESY to get a one-way gap in the window smoke on Mirage by lining up another smoke grenade. The player said that the admins gave him permission to use this feature during the last RMR tournament.

The PGL's decision caused massive criticism from the participants of the Major. Players of FaZe, ENCE, NAVI, NIP, FURIA and other teams believe that this bug completely changes the system of actions on Mirage. Besides, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken from FaZe noted that this vulnerability of the game can be used not only on Mirage, but also on other maps.

As part of the search for a solution to the existing problem with smoke grenades, FaZe's IGL Finn "karrigan" Andersen turned to the Counter-Strike Professional Players Association (CSPPA), which has already begun working on this case. He also proposed a gentlemen's agreement between all the squads taking part in the Major, according to which no team should use the bug described above.
