Heroic players speak out on the coaching bug for the first time

Casper "cadiaN" Møller and Rene "TeSeS" Madsen, the players of Heroic, in a video on the club’s YouTube channel commented on the results of the investigation by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), which previously stated that all the members of the Danish squad were not involved in abusing the spectator mode bug by former team coach Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen. The esports athletes for the first time publicly responded to the accusations from the ex-coach, which formed the basis of the ESIC proceedings.

According to cadiaN, during the time when HUNDEN was abusing the bug online, nobody could have thought that the coach was doing something illegal. The AWPer added that the players would not have allowed this to happen on a bootcamp.

The Heroic’s in-game leader also stated that initially the words of Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen, who informed his teammates about the HUNDEN’s fraud, were taken as a joke. After realizing what happened, the players demanded that the coach never again use this method of obtaining information about the opponent.

In turn, TeSeS admitted that only over time he realized that HUNDEN used it to take advantage of the game’s vulnerability in the certain place. He remembered how the coach asked him to take a certain position on the map during the warmup, after which it was possible to spectate the match from the exact same place.

During the half-hour video, the players also noted that immediately after the scandal came to light, they could have been justified by a TeamSpeak recording, but at that time, the team did not record their communication during the matches. cadiaN explained this by the fact that it was not something that Heroic would normally do, because even at LAN events, the team did not record TeamSpeak conversations, as they were saved by tournament organizers by default.
