JW leaves fnatic

The veteran of fnatic Jesper "JW" Wecksell, who was excluded from the main roster in July, has become a free agent. The 26-year-old Swede announced this on his Twitter account.

JW has represented fnatic for the past eight years with the exception of a short period in 2016 when he played for GODSENT. Together with him, the British organization became the champion of many prestigious tournaments, including three majors - DreamHack Winter 2013, ESL One Katowice 2015 and ESL One Cologne 2015.

It is noteworthy that earlier Wecksell turned up with the intention to continue his career as a professional CS:GO player after being released from his contract with fnatic. He called creating his own team, which would feature Swedish players, as one of the options for the future.

It should be reminded that the British player William "mezii" Merriman replaced JW in the updated roster. After the reshuffle, the team took 9-12th place at ESL Pro League Season 14 and finished 21-24th at IEM Fall 2021.
