Valve employee: "Let Updates Do the Talking"

Valve employee Gautam Babbar, who has been a member of the CS:GO development team for the past nine years, told the Steamworks virtual conference why the company rarely communicates with players and does not communicate its plans for the shooter's development. According to Babbar, Valve feels they get more reliable feedback on their game when they stay away from public discussions. The company deliberately avoids publicizing planned CS:GO updates, Babbar admitted. The fact is that plans can change due to unforeseen problems that can take a significant amount of time to fix.

CS:GO developers have previously been criticized repeatedly for their lack of communication with both the game's amateur and professional communities. Valve's recent decision to replace Train with Ancient on the tournament map list also received negative feedback from players.
