OverDrive shared his opinion on flamie's career options

CIS community figure Alexey "OverDrive" Biryukov has shared his thoughts on the career options of Egor "flamie" Vasiliev, who is from NAVI's lineup for the upcoming events, including the major qualifying series. According to OverDrive, the 24-year-old Russian is still a top-tier CS:GO player, so he would be of interest to teams from the CIS and Europe, and could also do well in Valorant if he decides to switch disciplines.

In 2013 I've been gathering the Russian  mix for the Copenhagen Games together with Hooch. He suggested to take a talented 16 year old kid with the nickname Flamie. Despite the fact that I've always been very skeptical of the new names, I agreed pretty quickly. Egor immediately made a very positive impression: he was modest, calm, reasonable. We failed the tournament without any chance, but it was clear that Egor was a special player. I was sincerely happy when he signed by Navi. He deserved it because at the time he was one of the best players in the CIS. Now he is going through a difficult period. The future with Navi is questionable, and the prospects of moving to the top team are also not obvious. No matter who says what, Egor is still one of the best players in the CIS. He lacks stability, but it's a matter of his motivation and willingness to give his all for the sake of his favorite game. What options does he have now? To stay in Navi, to train and to prove that he is better than B1t. It's important to understand if Flamie is ready for that, it's not an easy way, and not obligatory. You can go to another CIS team. If you do that, you have to be willing to take a step back. I would be interested to see Egor in forZe or Nemiga, for example. You can go to Europe. There are a lot of options here. There are tier-1 teams that are looking for fresh blood, there are teams at level 2-3 that are looking for a player to push them into a higher echelon, Mad Lions for example. As sad as it sounds, there is an option with a move to Valorant. I think in about 2 months Egor will be ready to play at the local tier-1 level. Something to think about! We wish Egor to succeed as he wants and most importantly, that he should not give up in any way!

Recall that on April 11, it became known that Vasiliev will miss the first tournament of the next season, the Regional Major Rankings, and his place will take the sixth NAVI player Valery "B1T" Vakhovsky. The 18-year-old Ukrainian will also play at DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 in early May to prepare for the upcoming RMR event.
