Rumors: FunPlus Phoenix will build team around ALEX

FunPlus Phoenix aims to sign Alex "ALEX" McMickin, who is to become the first member of the new CS:GO line-up. This is reported by sources on the portal DBLTAP.

In the spring of 2020 ALEX left Vitality referring to the burnout and the need to relax from constant travel. Later, the British player expressed his desire to return to the professional stage, which aroused the interest of several major organizations, including FunPlus Phoenix, Gen.G, c0ntact, Cloud9 and FaZe. According to unconfirmed information, the management of Vitality demands about $600,000 for buying out his contract.

FunPlus Phoenix announced the signing of the CS:GO lineup before the start of the Flashpoint 1 league, where they've entered as the founding team by buying out the Danish roster of Heroic. However, it turned out that the deal was not completed in full and was frustrated by the departure of Patrick "es3tag" Hansen to Astralis. In order to finish thire performance at Flashpoint 1, FunPlus Phoenix temporarily signed the North Americans from Bad News Bears.
