niko joins Heroic

Heroic officially confirmed Nikolai "niko" Christensen's signing, which was announced in early April by insider Jarek "DeKay" Lewis. The 21-year-old Dane filled the Danish organization, which after the breakdown of the transfer deal with FunPlus Phoenix decided to replace two players.

 Nikolaj himself says:

I’m really happy to join Heroic. I look forward to do my outmost and be the player I know I can be, and help both the team and the organisation to great results!

Christensen was long bound by a contract with Immortals Gaming Club. In June 2019, the eSports organization acquired the OpTic brand and moved the entire CS:GO line-up to inactive, as it was already represented in the discipline by a team under the MiBR tag. During this period, niko played only four official matches, in which it played as a stand Tricked.

The nearest Heroic matches will take place during the Elisa Invitational Qualification Tournament, which will be held from April 30 to May 3. The Danish team will compete against other Nordic countries for two slots at the BLAST Spring 2020 Europe Showdown.

IGL Casper “cadiaN” Moeller says:

I am very happy to work with Nikolaj! I think he is one of the best players in Denmark, and definitely was a high priority for us. His communication is very good, and he has a vast experience of the game. This also marks the new Heroic roster, which I feel will be very successful, with time. It’s a lot of young and raw talent, and it will take a lot of hard work to reach the results we want. I am however confident that we can reach new heights with this roster. I have high hopes for the future!
