iBuyPower Announces CS:GO Tournament With $200,000 Prize Pool

iBuyPower has announced a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament, featuring a $200,000 prize pool.

The tournament will feature eight CS:GO teams from around the world, who will be chosen by direct invite. In the previous iBuyPower masters tournament, the prize pool capped out at only $100,000. Cloud9 are the current champions after winning the tournament last year.

The tournament will follow the same double-elimination group stage into a single-elimination playoffs format. iBuyPower will be releasing the invited team list soon, as the group stage will begin early on Jan. 19. The playoffs will take place on the following day, and the grand final best of three series will wrap up the tournament on the same say.

The tournament will take place at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood Los Angeles throughout the weekend.
