steel tells about being unbanned from Valve Majors in 2025

Canadian esports athlete Joshua "steel⁠" Nissan told via his Twitter account about the lifting of the ban from Valve Majors. The sanctions will elapse on January 26, 2025, as the developers informed the player.

Nissan was one of the four iBUYPOWER players who received a lifetime ban from Valve in 2015 for their involvement in a matchfixing scandal. steel continued to compete on the pro scene, and in 2017, ESL unbanned the Canadian and other involved players from participating in their events.

However, in 2020, Nissan moved to Valorant, ending his CS:GO career. However, last summer, the Canadian returned to the Counter-Strike pro scene. steel⁠ joined Bad News Bears, which he still represents.

Notably, Valve presented the suspension as permanent for all players involved in the scandal. Nissan does not know whether other players who helped orchestrate the fix will also be unbanned.
